  • Renae Southworth

is an herbalist, business owner, and advocate for ethical and sustainable plant-based living. Her journey with herbs began when she became a mother, seeking natural ways to keep her children healthy. At the same time, she faced her own struggles with an autoimmune disease and chronic health issues. Through plant medicine, she found healing — not only for herself but for her family — and a deep appreciation for the wisdom of the natural world. Renae’s love for plants extends beyond medicine; it is rooted in a lifelong concern for animal welfare and environmental stewardship. For the past ten years, she has lived a plant-based life- style, believing that both plant medicine and a plant-based diet are the most compassionate and sustainable choices for personal and planetary health. This philosophy is woven into every aspect of her work. As the founder of Khroma Herbs, an herbal company committed to ethical and sustainable practices, Renae has spent the past decade creating high-quality, earth-conscious herbal products. Her business is a reflection of her values prioritizing sustainability, integrity, and the well-being of both people and the planet. She operates a retail shop, a manufacturing facility, and distributes her products through major e-commerce platforms and health food stores nationwide. She also believes that how a business treats its employees and customers is just as important as how it sources its ingredients. Beyond her work, Renae is an avid traveler and lifelong learner, always seeking to deepen her understanding of the world. She finds inspiration in the interconnectedness of plants, ecosystems, and communities — both human and botanical. Her passion for herbalism is ultimately about connection: to our health, to each other, and to the earth itself. You can find more about her on her website: khromaherbs.com.
